U.Dance Awards

This is a brand new element of the U.Dance registration scheme. There are 3 awards up for grabs!

To be in with the chance of winning the first 2 awards, we’re inviting everyone who registers their event to upload film footage of their favourite dance pieces from their show to YouTube under one of two categories:

1. Choreography

Pieces that really delve deep and aim high with the choreographic content of their piece. We want to see dances that are innovative and inspiring, that challenge the audience through the ideas they embody through exciting and dynamic choreography.

You need to use the following heading for the YouTube clips in this category: U.Dance Awards Entry - Choreography

2. Performance

Dance pieces where the performers really shine. Where the dancers show their passion and enthusiasmfor dance, through the energy and focus they exhibit on stage.

You need to use the following heading for the YouTube clip in this category: U.Dance Awards Entry - Performance

T&Cs:

  1. The dance piece uploaded to YouTube must've been performed at a U.Dance registered event.
  2. The person uploading the film footage accepts all liability for uploading the film and has obtained the necessary permissions from the performers and the film maker to upload the film.
  3. The piece should be no-longer than 10 minutes in duration.
  4. The dancers in the piece should comprise at least 80% 0 to 19 year olds.
  5. Entries will not be assessed unless the person uploading the film includes their U.Dance Champion registration number in the description.

PLEASE NOTE: In the Description you must put the group name, venue and date of performance so we can trace it back to your performance and can contact you if you have won!

At the end of each term our expert panel will watch the films uploaded within that term, to choose a winner for each category. The two winners will each be presented with a U.Dance Award trophy and their winning film will be profiled on the U.Dance website and through Youth Dance England online communications.

3. Biggest U.Dance Performance

There will also be an award for the biggest U.Dance performance each term which will be given directly to the U.Dance Champion who registers the event involving the largest number of people.

To be in with a chance of winning this trophy you must make sure that you submit the number of performers and audience members to us when prompted after your event.
